Delta Board Special Meeting Regarding North County Center Project

(Stockton, CA) - Delta College's Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet on Monday, November 9, 2015, 5:30 p.m. to hear public comments, and hold open and closed session briefings regarding the North County Center (NCC) Project by the NCC Project Team.

Tentative Meeting Agenda:

  • Closed Session (60 - 90 minutes) – on proposals received as part of the Request For Proposals (RFP-LA-45) and on the feasibility study of the District-owned Liberty Road Property (LRP).

There will be no public opening of the Proposals at the meeting. Proposals will remain confidential until a decision is rendered by the District’s Board of Trustees regarding the preferred site for the North County Center. The NCC Project Team will present information and recommendations as appropriate to the Board of Trustees in closed session.

At the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on March 11, 2014, the Board voted to authorize funding in the amount of $15 million for planning and establishing a North County Site and Education Center (“North County Center” or “NCC”).  In Summer and Fall 2014, the District developed the NCC Project Team to develop a site selection process.

In accordance with relevant codes and regulations, the District issued a formal Request for Proposal (RFP-LA-45) in February 2015 that invited the “submissions of proposals from landowners, facilities owners, and/or representatives of landowners and facilities owners…interested in offering land, existing facilities, or both…” for the development of a North County Education Center. Each submitted proposal would be compared against competing proposals, and against a proposed location already owned by the District at Liberty Road and Hwy 99 between Lodi and Galt.

The District has not made a determination as to its preferred location for a North County Center, and continues to move the concept forward.
