I SHOOT LIGHT. I photograph, fragment, and reconstruct light using mathematical mappings, algorithms, and distortion techniques. My process is one of digital manipulation, experimentation, and photographic exploration. Symmetrical patterns that draw on my love of folk art and tribal design sometimes emerge. Or they might explode in asymmetrical chaos. My current work reflects a fascination with color as a function of light and the way the two interpenetrate. The indigenous arts of the Southwest, Mexico, and North Africa have influenced my work. I enjoy captivating and challenging those who view my work and invite collaboration with designers, architects, ad agencies, corporations, gallerists, and creative thinkers.
