Carmen Lazar creates astonishingly beautiful sculptural representations of the human body. The figures are realistic in origin, but sometimes elongated or otherwise abstracted for expressive purposes. Created in bronze, many have patinas; others are sheathed in gold or steel. Generating tangible objects out of mental concepts, she uses human figures as the highest, most ideal form. Her bronze figures perform the dance of life, ribbons swirling around them with dynamic energy. Indeed, each of Lazar's powerful sculptures is suffused with vitality; each is a potent symbol of the life force.
