What makes us different from every other living creature?...We know we are going to die. Being aware of our finite existence gives us the possibility to live our lives differently. I wanted to try to address the issue of aging in a single sculpture, and let this reality reflect back on the viewer their feelings about their own mortality.

Freud believed that the Id is the part of our personality present from birth. It is our unconscious and contains our basic instinctual drives. I believe the Id is gradually suppressed and subjugated by our friends, parents, culture and society. I am constantly striving to tap into my "Id" and break out of the "box" that has formed around me.
