Gold Ear with Hands
monotype and collage on Kitikata paper
15" x 15" (framed)
$600
In Gold Ear with Hands, a figure disappears into an alternate world, leaving traces of sensory, earthly contact--hands and ears, ink and paper—and questions about the impermanent nature of human existence.
Early Hubble silver halide photographs, Warhol’s oxidation paintings, the figures of Gary Hall, Byzantine icons, the Tao Te Ching, and Buddhist concepts of impermanence inspire this work.
