Zygote Blum was born and raised in the agrarian metropolitan community of Cedar Rapids, Iowa in the late 60’s.

Trained as a sculptor and jeweler, he spent the 90’s as a technical arts foundry man helping artists realize their personal visions on grand scales.

He’s currently living in Stockton California with his wife and 2 children. His studio work has turned towards studio ceramics and the pursuit of creating “the Noble Object”. These are objects that are crafted with specific deliberation and are made to speak through generations using form and surface. They comfortably fit into our personal spaces and help us led better lives through daily refection and pride in who and where we are.
