My work is darkness filled with fear, anguish, and despair but shows transition through strength, hope, and acceptance. I predominantly illustrate fantastical imagery that relates to current issues through a single-frame or multiple-frame narrative. Dr. Frank Electrostein is a story compiled into a seventeen-part print collection. Each individual print is linoleum relief cut and hand-pressed onto paper. I have always enjoyed the challenge of working with only positive and negative space; with this project, I have created a continuous narrative through visual format of multiple prints. Printmaking is a timeless method of art and an excellent medium of narration. My ambition is to illuminate dreams and beliefs through inspirational and thought-provoking imagery. I hope my work helps express cultural and social truths through change and transformation. Sometimes you must accept a small portion of the dark in order to have a glimmer of a brighter tomorrow. |
