$800 I investigate the source of loneliness in order to overcome the pain that I suffer because of it. I have come to believe that loneliness is not a feeling induced by being alone, but a fear that originates from the recognition that I am a finite being. In order to overcome that apprehension I consider the world and everything in it to be part of myself, linked to me by invisible lines. When we look at the visible, everything in this world seems to have a distinct individual existence. However, existentially, I think all living and non-living things exist as one single organic being, perpetually connected through cause and effect. My artwork expresses these interconnected relationships through sea anemone like protrusions, representing our shared essence through time and space. |
