After years of producing functional pottery I found myself drawn to the art of tile making.  My most recent panels are made with tiles cast from children’s toys, which have been cut up and reconfigured. The toys I use are all plastic: guns, bullets, animals, cartoon characters.  Most of them are purchased at thrift stores and the local 99 Cent store. These panels express the chaos and violence I perceive taking place in the United States and much of the world juxtaposed against the innocence of childhood.
