Jay Dougan currently teaches at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, were he is an associate professor of art in the Department of Art & Design. Jay teaches sculpture, ceramics, and 3D foundations. Jay is originally from Southwest Michigan, he attended Western Michigan University were he received his BFA / Ceramics in 1996.  Jay went on to earn his MFA from the University of Notre Dame in 2002. His sculptures are inspired by natural forms and structures, the earth, and industrial objects. Mr. Dougan’s work has received awards in juried shows and exhibitions across the U.S.

This work is an investigation into mark making and pattern using glazes.
