Currently, my work represents voluminous forms that are hand built, textured, altered and salt-fired. In these pots, I am satisfied with gestural form by way of rounded bellies, sturdy shoulders, and a variation of necks. Each slab speaks to the next as they build a unity of strength and volume. Sometimes embellished with representational arms and feet, they become quite playful, quite anthropomorphic.
Kokichi is simplistic in form, salt-fired to cone 7 using minimal black glaze on sculpture clay.
