Flower Teapot

I am exploring the properties of wheel thrown porcelain fired in atmospheric soda firings.  I embellish my work with a combination of paper stencils, flashing slips, textures, stain, underglaze and sgraffito. I choose  floral and botanical motifs to reference my time spent in nature and my garden as it relates to a sense of space and belonging.  Nature and gardens have been a constant throughout my childhood and adult life allowing for a sense of control, order and balance amidst often time chaotic or challenging life events.
