Having always been interested by archaeological fragments of classical sculpture, I created the “Fragmento” series to celebrate that fascination. I started by sculpting a life size female figure from foot to chin and making a plaster mold. I then pressed clay slabs into the negative mold to create a variety one of a kind fragmentary sculptures. Cracks were encouraged as part of the conceptual framework. Dozens of works were created, but only seven, including “Hip not Tech” were selected for the “Fragmento” series.
