Seastar Dreaming IV white earthenware clay tile, several low-fire glazes, glasse 6" x 14" The inspiration for this work comes from the Dreamtime of the Aborigine people whose dreams represent sacred objects and events. The seastars, animals that are part of the interconnected web of life on Earth, serve as sacred objects in this “dreaming”. The blue and green colors represent deep and shallow ocean waters, while the yellow color represents the beach. The glass seastar slowly fades into a dream state of the flat glazed surface where it meets the ocean.
