In my work I look at the human condition through my personal experiences with love, loss, prejudice, emotional intimidation and self-acceptance. By working with my most complex concerns I have found that I can bring clarity to my thoughts.  As I sift through my daily encounters and influences I began to form ideas of how to make my ideas tangible in my art. 

Clay allows me to combine planning with serendipity.  I begin as a gesture drawing and then work to refine parts while allowing the tactile quality of the surface to interact with my narrative.
