This stylistic approach marks a new direction in my
work. Each piece is a one of a kind, hand built vessel greatly influenced by Japanese and Native American ceramic works. My strongest inspiration comes from my attraction to the natural surfaces textures and organic beauty found in ancient archeological relics. To that end,
I utilize the primitive process of pit/smoke firing to achieve the strong contrasting surface tones. When joined with the sculptural attributes of the forms, the creative result is simple and ageless.

My work is shown in galleries and private collections
across the nation including the permanent collection
of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
