What happened to the dream of our space program? As a child in the 50’s my fascination with Science Fiction began by watching Space Patrol, Flash Gordon and Twlight Zone on our small screen black and white TV and movies whenever circumstances permitted. I became hooked on Science Fiction Paperbacks and later I watched the moon landing at Major Schmidt’s house when I was in the Air Force in California. Now with the changing priorities and politics it seems like those dreams are gone as is reflected on the face of our “Aging Astronaut”.
