Juror's Statement The key to judging an exhibition is in the initial assessment of the work. Upon entering a room of art, hopefully, the mind is clear to see all the pieces without preconceptions. Although a show of strong work is obviously the end game, it at tim es may not be the sole driving factor in why the show exists. Regarding the purposes of a grouping of work, it may be best to have a show that involves the aesthetic mind without losing the possible flavors of the group dynamic. With this in mind, it must be remembered that the job of a show is to flesh out the personality of the overall territory while using the best gifts in the room. |
