15th Annual Student Art Exhibition & Awards Competition

April 24 - May 14, 2014

Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony
April 24th 5 - 7pm

The Student Art Exhibition features the work of currently enrolled Delta College students. The annual juried exhibition is

open to students of all fine arts disciplines, including ceramics, drawing, graphic arts, painting, photography, printmaking

and sculpture. The Gallery Committee, comprised of the full-time visual arts faculty, Dean of Arts & Communication,

Gallery Director, and a member from the community at-large, selects the works for exhibition and issues awards funded

by public donations. The Portfolio Awards are based on the submission of a body of work, technical proficiency, creativity,

understanding of materials, the potential for growth within the visual arts field, and granted to works of merit. The Portfolio

Awards Competition provides an opportunity for art majors to receive recognition and monetary awards. Students competing

for a Portfolio Award are required to address their creative goals through a written Artist Statement and submit a body of work

(4 to 6 pieces and may include a portfolio). Merit Awards of $50 are also issued for up-to 5 works of merit submitted for jury.
