San Joaquin Delta College Superintendent/President, Dr. Kathy Hart, is pleased to announce the performance of the Mariachi Femenil Orgullo Mexicano, one of several events planned for the 2015 Delta College Women’s History Month.

Mariachi Femenil Orgullo Mexicano began their journey in 2007 as the first all female Mariachi performing in the San Francisco Bay Area. The group is comprised of ten women from diverse backgrounds that have been influenced by various Mariachi artists as well as by their own family roots in Mariachi and individual interests. Their strong bond comes from their experience in the Mariachi circuit and their strong focus on education. Members range from attending high school, to having Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees. Through their passion and love for Mariachi music, the ladies strive to leave an indelible mark as part of their history—to lead by example and represent the Mexican Culture, the Mariachi tradition and Women in the Arts.
