Delta College Campuses Closed Friday, November 10 |
(Stockton, CA) San Joaquin Delta College's Stockton Campus and South Campus at Mountain House will close Friday, November 10, to honor Veterans Day. This year, Veterans Day falls on Saturday, November 11. Both campuses will reopen for classes and regular services on Monday, November 13. Delta College's Leo P. Burke Veterans Resource Center (VRC) will held a special flag raising ceremony in appreciation of Veterans Day, Thursday, November 9, at 8:30 a.m. in front of the DeRicco Student Services Building. A reception and VRC Open House followed in DeRicco 141. John Ervin, Delta's Veterans Resource Center Manager says, "Our annual flag raising ceremony is a tribute in recognition of Veterans Day for our Delta College student and faculty/staff veterans. Although the focus is on our campus community, we also invite local veterans service organizations to attend."
Ervin says veterans and the public are invited to learn more about Delta College's Veterans Services by visiting DeRicco 141. "Veterans Services is eager to assist those who served in the armed forces and their qualified dependents. Our responsibilities include serving as liaison between the veteran and the Department of Veterans Affairs, assisting with the application process and certification of VA educational benefits." Ervin finishes, “On November 11th, we celebrate America’s victories by honoring our nation’s veterans!” Regularly scheduled Delta College venue events and activities will be open during the Veterans Day holiday weekend.
