San Joaquin Delta College Presents:
Spring Festival of Choirs, March 17

Delta Singers
Delta Singers

(Stockton, CA) The choral ensembles of San Joaquin Delta College will present the annual Spring Festival of Choirs on Thursday, March 17, 7:30 p.m. in Warren Atherton Auditorium. Featured will be the choral talents of Delta’s Concert Choir, Delta Singers, and Delta Vocal Jazz ensemble. Each is under the direction of Dr. Bruce Southard.

Southard, who is also the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Stockton Chorale, has fond memories of Delta’s choral program. “Delta has always been a great place for students to begin their collegiate music careers. I remember some of my own singer-heroes performing with the Delta Singers under Ralph Prime when I was in high school. The choral program here has a long history of excellence.”

Joining the Delta choirs will be special guests, the Stagg High School Show Choir under the direction of Mr. Mark Swope. The choral performances will feature a variety of music for all tastes, including selections from the Faure’s Requiem, Stroope’s Where the Earth Meets the Sky, and Whitacre’s The City and the Sea.

Bruce Southard finishes, “The Spring Festival of Choirs is always a beautiful evening of music. Don’t miss our talented choral performers on March 17th!”

Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and seniors. Children under 12 are FREE with an admission ticket. Tickets may be purchased at http://www.deltacollege.edu/div/finearts/dept/dca/productions/choral.html.
