For Immediate Release Jazz Ambassadors FREE Concert
(Stockton, CA) The internationally acclaimed Jazz Ambassadors of Washington, D.C. will continue its tradition of presenting FREE public performances at San Joaquin Delta College's Atherton Auditorium, Friday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. The performance is sponsored by the Delta College Center for the Arts Music Department. Get ready for a great show the whole family will enjoy! Jazz Ambassadors concerts entertain all types of audiences. The band’s diverse repertoire includes: Big Band Swing; Bebop; Latin; Contemporary Jazz; Dixieland; popular tunes, vocals and patriotic standards. Many selections are written or arranged by members of the Jazz Ambassadors. The Jazz Ambassadors is the official touring big band of the United States Army. Formed in 1969, this 19-member ensemble has received outstanding acclaim at home and abroad performing America's greatest original art form, jazz. The Jazz Ambassadors have appeared in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India, and throughout Europe. Recent notable concert performances include: Toronto Jazz Festival, Richmond Jazz Festival at Maymont, the Kennedy Center Honors and a visit to Comedy Central's Colbert Report.
