Delta Drama: House of Blue Leaves, May 6-15 at Tilllie Lewis Theater
(Stockton, CA) Delta College's award winning Drama Department returns with a new production of John Guare's dark comedy, The House of Blue Leaves, at the Tillie Lewis Theatre: May 6, 7, 13 & 14 at 8 p.m., May 8 & 13 at 2 p.m.

Director Ashlee Temple has her talented acting troupe ready to bring a unique spin to a play the New York Times calls an "Enchantingly zany and original farce." The Obie and Tony Award winning play offers us a glimpse into an America that resonates with us today.

It’s 1965 and the pope is coming to visit New York City. In Sunnyside Queens lives Artie Shaughnessy, zookeeper by day and ambitious songwriter by night. He dreams of escaping from his life of mediocrity and invisibility. Artie is both helped and hampered by the crazy aspirations of those around him including his depressed wife Bananas, his food mad mistress Bunny, his AWOL celebrity obsessed son Ronnie, and his big shot producer friend Billy. Add to the mix three surly nuns and a visiting movie star!

Don't miss The House of Blue Leaves, a dark farce, both deeply funny and sadly poignant.

House of Blue Leaves is recommended for ages 14 and up. Tickets - $12 General; $10 Students & Seniors. Delta Center for the Arts (DCA) Box Office: 209-954-5110, On Line: DCA.DeltaCollege.edu.
