Calvin Riley

Calvin Riley

(Stockton, CA) The Delta College community expresses great sadness and deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mustangs baseball player, Calvin Riley. Calvin Riley, 20, of San Mateo, was shot to death Saturday night at Aquatic Park in San Francisco. More details regarding this tragic incident are pending. A GoFundMe.com "Cal Riley Funeral Fund" has been established to help the family with expenses.

Mustangs baseball coach Reed Peters made this statement:

We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our delta baseball family, Calvin Riley. Calvin was loved by all those that knew him. He was a great person from a great family; a 20-year-old with his best years ahead of him. Calvin was a huge part of our team success in reaching the 2016 California Community College Athletic Association baseball final four. He was a fun loving teammate that players loved to be around. Once Calvin took the mound he was all business. He possessed a great arm, great curveball, and a bulldog mentality that you loved to have with the game on the line. Calvin Riley brought the best out in all of us. He will truly be missed…but never forgotten. RIP 27.

Delta College Superintendent/President Kathy Hart:

Our hearts go out to Calvin Riley's family and friends. Our love and support will never make up for the tragic loss of a young man, but the Delta College community is here for the Riley family, and we honor Calvin's lasting memory.
