(Stockton, CA)

The advance trailer of the documentary on Northern Iraq refugee camps, The Longest Road, will be presented by noted Stockton photographer Stan Rapada, Tuesday, May 5, 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in Delta College’s West Forum. This presentation is part of Delta’s Community Education Armchair Traveler series. As a service to the community, Mr. Rapada’s presentation is FREE to the public.

Navy Veteran Stan Rapada (SCPO, USN, Retired) is a member of the International Veterans Alliance, and a Financial Aid Specialist at Delta College’s Leo P. Burke Veteran Resource Center. Mr. Rapada has dedicated his life to helping veterans. His free time recently took a dramatic detour. Stan was recruited by documentary producers Richard Campos and Matthew Charles Hall to journey to Iraq. His photography skills were required to work on The Longest Road. This powerful film examines the plight of Iraqi refugees, and how U.S. veterans are helping these exiles survive relentless terrorist onslaughts.

A world away, a group of American veterans still struggle in the aftermath of serving in an unresolved war. These veterans decided to pick up where foreign policy left off. The Longest Road is the story of two million Iraqi and Syrian refugees displace by the terrorist regime ISIS, and a band of American heroes returning to their former battleground to make a difference.

In addition to presenting The Longest Road documentary trailer and photos, Mr. Rapada will be joined by producer Richard Campos. Both will share their experiences and observations of The Longest Road documentary adventure. When pointed out to Stan Rapada that traveling to Northern Iraq to work on such a documentary was “dangerous” he replied “It is what it is.”

Don’t miss Stan Rapada’s engrossing Armchair Traveler presentation.

The best parking for the event is in Delta’s Shima or Cunningham lots, with a $2 daily parking permit available from lot dispensers.
