José M. Hernández presents: "A Journey to the Stars" December 8th Delta College's Armchair Traveler Series |
(Stockton, CA) Delta College’s Armchair Traveler speaker series has taken attendees on adventures around the world. Now…it’s time to "reach for the stars" with somebody who has actually been there!
Former astronaut José Hernández will present "A Journey to the Stars" on Tuesday, December 8, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Delta College’s West Forum. Hernández will recount his 14 day Space Shuttle (STS-128) journey to the International Space Station as a Mission Specialist in 2009.
This presentation is FREE and open to the public!
Hernández, a Franklin High and University of the Pacific grad, was selected to the Astronaut Training Program in 2004. He completed his training and achieved his dream of becoming an astronaut in 2006. Get your questions ready...find out what it’s really like to live and work in space from José Hernández!
Delta College’s Community Education Armchair Traveler series enters its 39th year presenting travelogue journeys to the public. Armchair Traveler usually costs $15. The college hopes this FREE “A Journey to the Stars” presentation will inspire students to enter the same STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields that motivated José Hernández to “reach for the stars.”
