NOTICE OF ELECTION-BOARD OF TRUSTEES

                   Delta College Pacific Ave. Entrance

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS that an Election will be held in the County of San Joaquin, State of California, on the 4th day of November, 2014, for the purpose of electing members to the Board of Directors for the following district:

SAN JOAQUIN DELTA COMMUNITY COLLEGE

ELECTION OF 1 MEMBER, AT LARGE  AREA 3  -  FULL TERM: 12/5/2014 TO 12/7/2018

ELECTION OF 1 MEMBER, AT LARGE  AREA 4  -  FULL TERM: 12/5/2014 TO 12/7/2018

ELECTION OF 1 MEMBER, AT LARGE  AREA 7  -  FULL TERM: 12/5/2014 TO 12/7/2018

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE

School District Candidate must be an elector of the District and of the Trustee Area (if any) in which he or she is seeking nomination. An employee of a school district may not be sworn into office as an elected or appointed member of that school district's governing board unless and until he or she resigns as an employee. If the employee does not resign, the employment will automatically terminate upon being sworn into office. (Education Code §35107)

Declaration of Candidacy forms will be available and may be filed between the dates of July 14, 2014 through 5:00 p.m. on August 8, 2014, at the Office of the Registrar of Voters, 44 N. San Joaquin St., 3rd floor, Suite 350, Stockton, CA. If the forms are returned by mail, they must be received in the Office of the Registrar of Voters on or before 5:00 p.m., August 8, 2014. If, however, an incumbent does not declare candidacy by 5:00 p.m. on August 8, 2014, candidates other than the incumbent shall have until 5:00 p.m. on August 13, 2014 to declare their candidacy for such office. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that appointment to each elective office will be made in the event there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for such office and a petition for an election are not filed within the time period prescribed by law.  Appointments will be made pursuant to Section 10515 of the Elections Code.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that registered voters wishing to vote by mail may do so by applying for a Vote-by-Mail ballot at 44 N. San Joaquin St., 3rd floor, Suite 350, Stockton, CA, 95202. The last day to apply for a Vote-by-Mail ballot is Tuesday, October 28, 2014.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Office of the Registrar of Voters will commence processing Vote-by-Mail ballots for the November 4, 2014 Election, on Monday, October 6, 2014, at 44 N. San Joaquin St., Suite 350, Stockton, CA.  The processing includes verifying signatures and addresses by comparing them to voter registration information.   The opening and additional processing shall commence on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, through Election Day and will include the completion of the canvass of the election. Counting of the ballots shall commence at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Members of the public are invited to observe.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Registrar of Voters has established the Office of the Registrar of Voters, 44 N. San Joaquin St., 3rd floor, Suite 350, Stockton, CA, as the Central Counting Place for all ballots cast at the election held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Office of the Registrar of Voters shall be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on the day of the election.
