San Joaquin Delta College’s Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Program is now accepting online applications through October 25, 2013, 5:00 pm. To access the application, visit: http://bit.ly/GOz5kR

ALL Applicants MUST be enrolled as a current Delta College Student and know their Delta College ID Number and email address. To be current as a Delta College student, an "active application" must be on file with Delta College Admissions and Records.

Upon successful completion of the Associate Degree in the Speech Language Pathology Assistant Program, the graduate is able to apply for licensure with the State of California. A licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant works under the direction of a supervising Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and demonstrates the skills, knowledge and training to practice in a variety of settings within the parameters of the SLPA scope of practice.

Courses in the department are offered at Mountain House, the Main Stockton campus and online. Fieldwork experiences under the supervision of a practicing Speech Language Pathologist are a required component of the program.  Fieldwork placements are arranged for the students and are only available in the greater Delta College region.

The SLPA program includes a distance learning component comprised of various instruction methods including online learning involving enriched audio and video presentations and resources.  For this reason, students in this program must have reliable, consistent access to a high speed or comparable internet connection. Students entering this program must possess a practiced, working knowledge of technology tasks. SLPA Faculty will not be responsible for teaching technology skills.
