ART FOR THE ART OF IT Thur. Feb. 28 - Upper Danner

On Thursday, Feb. 28 there will be a one-day only, student-created art show in Upper Danner Hall from 9 am to 2 pm. Please encourage your students to participate or attend (see below). Art in all genres is welcome, framed or unframed!

Simone Mingua, a "graduate" of the FIPSE created Multimedia English 1A class, created this project as her midterm last semester. She believes, "Students need more opportunities to show their art work and to receive critical responses from their peers." Simone booked Danner Hall, made the display boards, and put out the call to artists on social media with the flyer below. She will run the entire event for students.

Ideas like this are the basis for a NEW arts incubator that is facilitated by Delta English instructor Paula Sheil and Keith Hatschek, a  music professor at Pacific. Both are mentoring young, creative people, vetting their ideas and helping them discover resources to make their ideas happen. Their next meeting is March 14, 4 - 5:30 p.m. at Whirlow's on the Miracle Mile.
