Delta College Radio-TV Students Take 13
"3C Student Film & Video Festival" Awards
(Stockton)
All those long hours of production and late nights of editing eventually do pay off! Proof positive as 11 students from San Joaquin Delta College’s Radio-Television (RTV) Department collected 13 California Community Colleges "3C Student Film and Video Festival" awards.
The popular 3C Film & Video Festival is funded by a grant through the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s office. This competition is open to all California community college multimedia, film and video students.
“While most of the 3C Festival winners came from bigger colleges with much larger multimedia and film/video programs, such as Santa Ana College, Palomar, and City College of San Francisco, Delta’s RTV students held their own,” said Delta College RTV Professor William Story. “Delta’s RTV students entered projects truly worthy of state wide recognition.” Story emphasized, “In the Music & Variety category, Delta students were the dominant winners.”

Professor Story is “extremely proud” of the accomplishments of Delta’s award winners. “I am equally impressed by the numerous students who assisted the award-winning filmmakers. Unfortunately, due to entry contributor limitations, support students did not receive an award with their name on it.”
William Story is quick to point out that film and RTV production is very much a “collaborative/team effort,” a point he emphasizes in his classes. “At Delta RTV, we focus on developing very strong production teams.” To hammer that point home, this year, Delta’s RTV students will team up to produce three major group projects: A half-hour long situation comedy; Expansion of Delta’s news and sports broadcast operation; Further development of the Delta College daily online broadcast station. Ambitious tasks!
As always, Professor Story looks to the future. “The recent announcement of Delta’s 3C Festival achievements is a great way to inspire our students to ‘give it their all’ and make these team productions a reality."
