Delta College Receives Top State Ranking for its Graduation Rates
Data released by Community College Week puts San Joaquin Delta College at the top of the list of California schools for AA/AS degrees earned in all disciplines, and in the top ten nationally. A total of 3,418 degrees were awarded by the college in 2009-10, and Delta College placed ninth nationally as an associate degree producer among 5,000 accredited institutions across the United States.
Of particular note: Though San Joaquin Delta College’s district is not the largest in California, Delta still ranked first nationally among colleges in associate degrees earned by Asian Americans; ranked third among community colleges for degrees earned by minority students, and placed fourth among community colleges for degrees earned by Hispanic students.
“The rankings by Community College Week validate the impressive work that our staff and faculty provide for the students of this region,” said Delta Superintendent/President, Dr. Jeff Marsee. “Delta College provides tremendous access to higher education for our diverse student body. We are very proud of the college’s national standing as a leading community college, and are gratified by the support we receive from our community.”
Delta College earned top 10 national community college rankings for associate degrees in three additional categories:
