Tune In & Tune Up Event, Sat. Jan. 22
Free Emissions Testing & Repairs!
In keeping with San Joaquin Delta College's commitment to sustainability and its civic responsibility to work with community partners as a model for environmental stewardship,
the college will co-host the TUNE IN & TUNE UP Car Clean-Up Event on Saturday, January 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will take place in Delta's Shima 1 & 2 parking lots. Check out the details below.
Stockton Mayor Ann Johnston, Vice Chair of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and San Joaquin County Supervisor Leroy Ornellas, board member, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, are expected to attend this year's event.
This free emissions testing and repair program, co-hosted with the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and Valley Clean Air Now, will help reduce emissions from older "out of tune" automobiles. The emissions test takes just a few minutes. If the qualifying vehicle does not pass, the motorist will receive a $500 voucher for repairs at a local Gold Shield certified smog shop.
In partnership with the Foundation for California Community Colleges and its VRRRM program, the Valley Air District has been able to expand this successful Tune In & Tune Up program thanks to funding from the Reformulated Gasoline Settlement Fund. Fifteen additional events are scheduled throughout the valley over the next eighteen months.
