Delta College Registration Bulletin - Spring Semester 2012
Winter Break Schedule
This bulletin updates Delta College’s Spring Semester 2012 enrollment situation for our students and community. As of November 23, (the final day of registration by appointment) Delta’s classes were nearly 90% full, and students continued to apply for admission for Spring Semester, 2012.
ENROLLMENT:
Delta College has managed its enrollment effectively; however, untimely budget cuts by the State of California have undermined the college’s best efforts. The college has limited the number of sections scheduled for this Spring Semester, and will not create additional sections. Delta College believes its course offerings must be reduced to closely match the Full Time Equivalent Students (FTES) for which it can expect to be funded by the State of California.
DECEMBER 1- APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSIONS CLOSED:
In order to minimize the frustrations associated with attempting to accommodate more students than the college has the capacity to serve, Delta will close Applications for Admissions on December 1 at 4:00 p.m. for the Spring Semester, 2012. The college advises - There is no point accepting applications from students who will not be able to find available classes. Instead, students will be encouraged to engage in careful planning and apply for the 2012 Summer Semester or fall terms.

ATTEMPTING TO ADD TO FULL CLASSES:
Delta College recommends to its students: If a class and wait list are full, please do not attend the class in the hope of getting added. Our faculty has been instructed to NOT add any students over the maximum number of seats for the class.
Delta’s Enrollment Management Committee and key Instruction and Student Services administrators will continue to identify strategies to mitigate ongoing institutional demand for classes and services. The college hopes this information will assist students in understanding our strategy for accommodating the demand for services, and answer questions concerning the enrollment situation here at Delta College.
