Delta College's "New Student Welcome Day" set for Tue., Aug. 9

Delta College will host its sixth annual “New Student Welcome Day” on Tue., Aug. 9, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The theme for this year’s event - “Plan ahead and succeed: Making the most of your Delta College education!” This is a FREE event, however, space is limited.

Co-sponsored by Delta’s Associated Student Body Government (ASBG), the goal of New Student Welcome Day is to support academic success. New students will learn about college resources, take campus tours, purchase student ID’s, obtain library cards, purchase textbooks, attend informational workshops…and more!
Jazmin Amen, director of Delta’s Career/Transfer and Outreach Services, applauds the value of Delta’s annual orientation event. “It’s not unusual for new students to be apprehensive. New Student Welcome Day helps prepare students for a smooth transition into college. Students will learn about resources that enable them to ‘Plan ahead and succeed.’ New Student Welcome Day is a great first step to help students reach their goals!”
Delta will offer a Resource Fair throughout the day in Danner Hall. Students will have the opportunity to meet with division representatives and obtain helpful information regarding Delta’s Special Programs and Student Services. In addition, students may learn about exciting careers in Electron Microscopy at the Center for Microscopy and Allied Sciences open house. Students may also tour the newly renovated Goleman Library, obtain a library card, and learn about fall library skills workshops.

11 a.m.-12 p.m. Paying for College

Students may obtain their Delta College ID's during Welcome Day.
Students may purchase their Delta College parking permits at the bookstore during Welcome Day.
