Delta College Board Selects Dr. Jeff Marsee as its Next Superintendent/President
After an extensive six month national search that included input from staff, campus organizations and community stakeholders, on Feb. 22, 2011, San Joaquin Delta College’s Board of Trustees select
Dr. Jeff Marsee as the college's next Superintendent/President. The vote was unanimous.
Dr. Marsee is currently the president of the College of the Redwoods in Eureka. He signed a three year agreement with Delta College at an annual compensation of $235,768.
Dr. Marsee was selected from a final pool that included Dr. Kimberly Perry, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Los Angeles City College, and Dr. Kevin G. Walthers, Vice Chancellor for Administration for the West Virginia Community and Technical College System.
Dr. Jeff Marsee was hired as the Superintendent/President of the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, CA, in 2008. Dr. Marsee’s academic career includes service as Vice President of Administrative Services at El Camino College in Torrance, CA, along with 21 years of experience as a Vice President and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Fiscal/Business Services at community colleges in Texas, New York and California (1974-2005).
Jeff Marsee has taught as an adjunct and full time faculty member at the community college and university level. Dr. Marsee earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Southern California, where he also achieved NCAA All-American status in cross country. Dr. Marsee earned a Master’s in Economics from Cal State Long Beach and Doctorate in the Community College Leadership Program from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Marsee also received a Fulbright seminar grant to Russia in April, 2010.
Dr. Marsee is expected to start his service as Delta’s next Superintendent/President on May 1st. Dr. Susan A. Cota has been serving as Delta’s Interim Superintendent/President since Aug. 2010.
