"Return to the Forbidden Planet" starting Oct. 21!
Delta College Drama presents the high energy rock & roll musical, "Return to the Forbidden Planet" at Delta's Studio Theater, Oct. 21, 22 and 28 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 23 & 30 at 2 p.m.
Directed by 2011 Stockton Arts Commission "Arts Educator Award" winner and Delta College drama instructor, Harvey Jordan, "Return to the Forbidden Planet" is a campy and outrageous blend of Shakespeare, Star Trek, and Rocky Horror.
Based on the 1956 film, the plot follows the crew of a routine survey flight under the command of Captain Tempest. Their spaceship is drawn mysteriously to the planet D'Illyria, where mad scientist Doctor Prospero and his lovely daughter Miranda are marooned.
"Return to the Forbidden Planet is a wickedly fun and audacious rock musical retelling of the 1956 sci-fi classic film, which was loosely based on Shakespeare's 'The Tempest,'" says Harvey Jordan. "Blast off to the planet D'Illyria in a musical experience like you've never seen before!"
Don’t miss "Return to the Forbidden Planet," Shakespear's forgotten rock & roll masterpiece! General admission is $14; students and seniors, $12. Please call the Delta College box office at:
