Each year, the Horton Gallery's 2D–3D exhibition will present works in all media with a specific focus or theme. This national exhibition features 36 artists exploring color and design in all media. Included in the list of artists are three local artists: Samuel Bassett and Pepe Pool from Lodi, and Troy Viss from Turlock. The exhibition presents paintings, sculpture, beadwork, ceramics, fiber arts and collage. While there is a wide range of diverse styles and media found in the artists’ work, there is an emphasis on examining the visual arts design principles.
The exhibition Best of Show Award is generously funded by the Stockton Arts Commission through an Arts Endowment Grant. The juror for the exhibition is Carrie Pilto, Project Assistant Curator, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
