L.H. Horton Gallery Presents:

Poissons De Chant
The Illustrated Adventures of a Mythical
Troupe of Singing Fish From Montreal

Digital Painting by Tom Lundquist
Nov. 12 - Dec. 16
Reception:  Nov. 12,   5 – 7pm

(Stockton, CA)

The LH Horton Jr. Gallery is pleased to present the digital paintings of Tom Lundquist. Everything in this exhibit is produced through some form of digital modeling and/or digital painting. Lundquist turned to computer imagery after spending much of his youth making elaborately detailed drawings. The ability to create much more complex images was an “irresistible draw,” states Lundquist. “I was willing to put aside traditional drawing values to do it.”

The Poissons de Chant series of prints illustrates the adventures of a mythical troupe of singing fish from Montreal. Most of the characters are production assistants, agents, accountants, or animal performers that work for the fish. When the "poissons" appear, they are usually hidden in bowls.

The elaborate narrative that is described in the series doesn't really exist. Though a number of people have suggested that he write a story to go with the illustrations, Lundquist states that, “the only thing I really enjoy doing is making pictures.” Tom Lundquist lives in Santa Monica, California, and teaches part time at Santa Monica College.

The Gallery will be giving out raffle tickets, free of charge, to visitors of the Gallery to select a FREE WORK of ART, generously given away by artist Tom Lundquist. The raffle will be conducted from November 12 through December 10, during open hours. Raffle winners will be selected and announced on Friday, December 11. Winning raffle ticket holders must pick up the framed digital print at the Gallery on Friday, December 18, from 8:30am to 1:00pm.

The L. H. Horton Gallery is located on the campus of San Joaquin Delta College, on the ground floor of Shima Center. The gallery is wheelchair accessible. Admission is free and open to the public.
