Delta Forensics takes third overall and top Community College in DVC Invitational,
Invites YOU to Forensics Showcase this Thursday, Oct. 29, at Delta’s N. Forum!

(Stockton, CA)

Delta College Forensics cordially invites you to the Fall Forensics Showcase. This FREE event offers a taste of what the forensic life is like for our delta students as they compete nationally.  The event is from 2-4pm, in N. Forum.  Admission is free!  Stay around after the performance to chat with coaches and team members!

The Mustang Forensics Team continued their season this past weekend at the Kevin Twohy Invitational on the campus of Diablo Valley College, Concord, CA.  With a dramatic showing in Open-level debate the mustangs came ready to compete with two teams placing in the top 5 of the tournament.  When the dust settled on Sunday Delta has honored as the third place institution in the tournament, surpassing all other community colleges and several universities.

For the first time this fall students from the Mountain House Campus in Tracy joined students from the main campus in Stockton to compete in the 3-day, 2-tournament extravaganza.  Special thanks from the team to Communication Instructor Terry Peterson for his work coaching the students from Mountain House.

Team member Joseph Price, who placed 3rd in Open Parliamentary Debate after being narrowly defeated by Cal Berkeley said, “I found this tournament to be very enriching, it has given me a lot of experience, a lot of intelligent people… it inspires me to do better.”

Director of Forensics Steven Graham explained, “I think the students have worked hard for this tournament, but they can certainly work harder for the upcoming tournaments at Pacific and in Los Angeles.”

The team next travels to the Pacific Meets the Delta Swing, the largest tournament of the fall semester, located on the campuses of Sacramento City College and the University of the Pacific on November 6th-8th.
