Delta College presents the academic and financial planning presentation, “College: Making it Happen!”

(Stockton, CA)

8th graders and their families are cordially invited to participate in San Joaquin Delta College’s "College: Making it Happen!”

This free event will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 in Delta College’s West Forum. Registration is from 8am-9am, with the program running from 9am-12noon. Campus tours will start after the program.

 “College: Making it Happen!” is a program designed to communicate to families and school educators the importance of early academic and financial planning.  The program aspires to educate middle school children about the choices available after high school graduation.

Guests include keynote speaker, Mr. Richard Rios, retired SJDC English instructor, local artist and performer. Also present will be representatives from UC and CSU ScholarShare college savings plan. ScholarShare is state sponsored “529 plan.” 529 plans have tax-advantages designed to encourage saving for future college costs.
