9th Annual Student Art Exhibition & Awards Competition

STOCKTON, CA - Delta Center for the Arts LH Horton Jr. Gallery presents the

9th Annual Student Exhibition & Art Awards Competition, April 24 through May 22, 2008. The opening reception is planned for Thursday, April 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.

This exhibit features the work of currently enrolled Delta College students. The annual juried exhibition is open to students of all disciplines, campus wide. The visual arts faculty juries the exhibition, and issues awards based on technical proficiency, creativity, and the potential for growth within the visual arts.

The Awards Competition provides an opportunity for Studio Arts Majors to receive recognition and scholarship funding. Students competing for an award submit a body of work and address their creative goals through a written statement. The featured artwork on the poster is the work of Ivan Rocha, the top award recipient in the 2007 Student Art Exhibition & Awards Competition.

The LH Horton Jr. Gallery is a Delta Center for the Arts venue located on the ground floor of Shima Center on the campus of San Joaquin Delta College. The Gallery exhibits professional and diverse work through a proposal process with no thematic or geographic restrictions.

The Gallery is free, open to the public, and handicapped accessible. Group Tours are welcomed and Gallery Talks can be arranged. Recommended parking is available in the Shima lots for a nominal fee.
