Delta College Presents “Fall Festival of Bands” on Oct. 7th

Delta College presents its annual “Fall Festival of Bands” on Tuesday, Oct. 7,

7:30 p.m. at Atherton Auditorium.

Delta’s “Fall Festival of Bands” features the Delta Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Stockton Wind Ensemble and Stockton Concert Band, all conducted by Arthur J. Holton, Jr.

“We always bring in a great special guest,” says Delta College band instructor and director, Arthur J. Holton, Jr. “This year, we’ll feature the C.S.U. Chico Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Royce Tevis. We have a lot of great musical talent in the central valley. We like to ‘show off’ during our annual Fall Festival of Bands.”

This year’s concert includes works by Richard Strauss, Dmitri Shostakovich, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Irving Berlin. “The grand finale is Americans We by Henry Fillmore, performed by all the bands combined,” says Holton, “It’s always a spectacular finale.”

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors (62 and over). Children 12 and under are free, but must obtain a ticket at the box office before entering the theater.
