THE DELTA COLLEGE “ARTISAN BAKERS CLUB” PRESENTS ITS ANNUAL THANKSGIVING BAKE SALE
(Stockton)
The Delta College “Artisan Bakers” present their annual Thanksgiving Bake Sale on Wednesday, Nov. 21st from 7am-2pm in Danner Hall. Culinary Arts instructor, Chef Robert Halabicky says, “Take it easy this year and let Delta College do your Thanksgiving baking.”
The popular Thanksgiving bake sale is a fundraiser for the Artisan Bakers Club. The club dedicates hours from midnight to 7am to insure that all goods are delivered fresh out of the oven. Delta College Culinary Arts student Sophia Williams says the club will probably put in a 24 hour day for this year’s sale. “The Thanksgiving sale is always a great educational experience. As students, we learn all aspects of running a true commercial bakery, from production to sales and advertising.”
Chef Halabicky emphasizes that students enrolled in Delta’s Culinary Arts program receive hands-on experience in all facets of food preparation. “Course work encompasses managerial responsibilities, including menu planning, cost control, purchasing, cooking, baking and restaurant operations. We emphasize culinary technique in all labs.” Halabicky adds, “Our program is demanding, physically and academically.”
The Thanksgiving sale includes the usual holiday favorites, and more: Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Breads, Sweet Breads, Dinner Rolls, Pastries, Tarts, Cakes and Cookies.
The public is invited to taste and experience this great culinary opportunity provided by the dedicated and passionate efforts of Delta’s aspiring chefs. Customers are encouraged to order in advance by visiting the Artisan Bakers web site at deltabakery.com, then click on The Bakery link to fill out a Pre-Order Form. Come Nov. 21st, your order will be waiting!
Happy Thanksgiving!
