DELTA COLLEGE DEBUTS “STUDY ABROAD IN CHINA” PROGRAM THIS SPRING

San Joaquin Delta College announces the debut of its Study Abroad in China program, beginning spring, 2008. The program faculty coordinator, Dr. Jun Wang says, “This exciting program offers Delta students the incredible opportunity to study Chinese and Chinese Culture for a bargain price at the Huaihai Institute of Technology (HIT). HIT is located in the beautiful coastal city of Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province.”
This program runs from Feb. 15 thru May 23. The cost per student is $3,478. This price includes tuition, dorm, meals, books, supplies and airfare. Students can take a variety of courses for a full load of semester units, including:
*Elementary Chinese
*Chinese Practical Conversation
*Traditional Chinese Culture
*Chinese Customs
*Chinese Economy
*Chinese Music
*Chinese Painting and Calligraphy
*Chinese martial Arts
The Huaihai Institute of Technology was founded in 1985. HIT is a 4-year institute with a modern, state-of-the-art educational facility. HIT is located in the city of Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. Lianyungang is one of 14 Chinese coastal cities now open to the outside world. It is within driving distance of Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Tai Mountain, Qufu (home of Confucius) and Huaguo Mountain where Wu Cheng En was inspired to write the famous Chinese classic, “Journey to the West.”
