Delta College Trustees Vote on Potential Land Purchases
(Stockton, CA) – By unanimous vote, the San Joaquin Delta College Board of Trustees voted November 21, 2006 to authorize a non-refundable deposit of $50,000 to be provided to the seller of the Liberty Road property in Galt to continue the escrow process.
In a separate decision, the board voted five-to-two against a motion to abandon the Highway 12 site in Lodi. Trustee Ted Simas and Trustee Greg McCreary voted in favor of the motion. The remaining trustees voted to continue to negotiate a property transaction at the Highway 12 site. Under the current agreement with the sellers, the board has until early December to decide if the college will continue the escrow process for the purchase of the property.
Both sites are intended to be satellite centers for San Joaquin Delta College.
