MACCC Honor Band to Perform at Delta College
(Stockton, CA) – The Music Association of California Community College’s (MACCC) Northern California Honor Band will perform in concert with the Delta College Symphonic Winds and the Stockton Concert Band on Thursday, February 23, 2006. This year’s honor band, hosted by SJDC, is directed by Dr. Lawrence R. Sutherland, Jr. Dr. Sutherland has been Director of Bands and Professor of Music at CSU, Fresno since 1969. He is the only person to have directed all three California Music Educators All-State Instrumental honor groups orchestra, symphonic band and jazz band. The honor band will perform three pieces including O Magnum Mysterium for Concert Band by Morten Lauridsen. Arthur J. Holton III will direct the Delta College and Stockton Concert Bands. The performance is in the Atherton Auditorium on the Delta College campus. The concert is free.
