Dean Named “Economic Development Person of the Year”
(Stockton, CA) – Dr. Hazel Hill, Dean of Workforce and Economic Development at San Joaquin Delta College, was awarded “Economic Development Person of the Year” for the state of California by the Association of Community and Continuing Education (ACCE). ACCE, an organization of California Community Colleges, presented her with the award at this year’s annual conference recently held in San Diego.
The award recognizes her work in establishing new and educational programs, as well as contributing, both at the local and state level, information that has helped the growth and expansion of Economic Development, and for her leadership skills. Dr. Hill’s most recent accomplishments at San Joaquin Delta College include the development of the Contract Education Program, which provides specialized training (credit or no-credit) to businesses and industries in the region. Programs are customized to meet the client’s needs. In addition, she is responsible for Vocational Education, Tech-Prep, CalWORKs, Kids College, Community Education, and the Small Business Development Center. She is active in a number professional and community organizations including the Family Resource and Referral Center and the Rotary Club of Stockton.
