Delta College CAP Committee to Present “Freaks and Society”
(Stockton CA) – Who are they? What are they? Be sure to attend this informative and interesting presentation February 9 to find out.
Guest speaker Johnnie Terry, a professor of philosophy at Sierra College, will cause you to think about how you use the word and what it means. “Freak” is an offensive word that designates an attitude or a performance rather than a physical or mental condition. A “freak” is one who steadfastly declines the invitation to be like you.
Sponsored by the Delta College Cultural Awareness Program (CAP), the event is free to the public and will be presented in Delta College’s Atherton Theatre from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be a reception from noon to 1 p.m. in the Horton Gallery located in the Shima building on Delta College’s main campus in Stockton.
