Children's Theatre Production:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
(Stockton, CA) - The Department of Drama at San Joaquin Delta College presents its annual Children's Theatre production Dec. 3 and 4 at Tillie Lewis Theatre. This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting land of Narnia.
With intense action and memorable characters, this story of love, faith, courage and giving culminates in the triumph of good over evil and is a true celebration of life. Jose Valle of Stockton plays Aslan, Catherine Jennings of Tokay High School and Jackie Whalen of Lincoln High School play the roles of Lucy and her sister Susan. Ben and Gabe Cole of Manteca play the two brothers, Peter and Edmund. Sarah Murray of Lincoln High School plays the evil Queen of Narnia. Set Designer Christina McCollam and Costume Designer Beverly Norcross found inspiration from the works of director Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings). The production includes characters that are part puppet.
Director John White has done a masterful job of bringing to life this wonderful story for audiences of all ages.
